Bread making : Oven Baked Bread

  1. Mix 500g of bread mix and 8g of yeast in a large bowl.
  2. Add 330mL of lukewarm water.
  3. Mix together with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened and form a ball.
  4. Lightly flour the work surface and hands and knead the dough for 8 minutes until soft and elastic.
  5. Allow to rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. Continue kneading for 2 more minutes.
  7. Place dough into an oiled bowl.
  8. Cover and stand in a warm position until dough has doubled in size - approx 45-55 minutes
  9. Remove dough from bowl and knead lightly on a floured board.
  10. Shape dough into a loaf or cylinder shape.
  11. Place into a large oiled bread tin (25 x 11 x 10 cm)
  12. Cover and leave in a warm place for 35-45 minutes.
  13. Bake at 220C for 25-35 minutes until the crust is brown and load sounds hollow when tapped.
  14. Remove loaf from pan and allow to cool on a wire rack.
