Electronic calendars

Calendar event Observations:
Some of my most wanted calendar events are generated by Eventbrite.
Eventbrite generates version 1.0 vcalendar files. Examine file with text editor.
Direct importing into iPhone {5C at least} does not work - the event is not entered into the calendar and the app appears to freeze.

Experiments:

1. Import v 1.0 files into calendar
2. Action above is successful
3. Export to another file and email as an attachment to mobile phone and/or iPad.
4. Exporting generates a v 2.0 file which is compatible with iPhone
5. Operation is successful
